These vibrations are caused by interactions between the combustion process, the flow of the fuel-air mixture and the acoustic properties of the combustion chamber.

During combustion, periodic pressure changes can occur, which are manifested as Acoustic or thermoacoustic vibrations in the combustion chamber. If these vibrations are additionally stimulated or amplified by the combustion process, stable resonances can form. In such cases, one often speaks of Combustion instabilities.

Combustion chamber vibrations can have a significant impact on the operation of gas turbines. Excessive pressure vibrations can, for example, lead to Increased mechanical stress on components, material fatigue, loss of performance or increased wear lead to vibrations. Continuous monitoring of these vibrations is therefore an important part of the Diagnosis and optimization of combustion processes.

In practice, combustion chamber vibrations are often dynamic pressure sensors measured and evaluated. Measurement data acquisition systems - for example from Delphin Technology - enable the High-resolution detection and analysis of such fast pressure signals, to detect combustion instabilities at an early stage and optimize the operation of gas turbines.

["post-6755","glossar","type-glossar","status-publish","hentry
["GET
