The burden acts as an electrical resistor in the signal path and therefore influences the voltage and current of the transmitted measurement signal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Many sensors and transmitters work with <strong>Current signals<\/strong>, for example in the industrially widespread <strong>4-20 mA signal range<\/strong>. In such current loops, the load determines which voltage is generated at the input of the measuring device. After the <strong>Ohm's law (I = U \/ R)<\/strong> results in a corresponding voltage at the resistor of the load for a given current.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For measuring devices and sensors, a <strong>Maximum permissible load resistance<\/strong> is specified. If this value is exceeded, the sensor can no longer drive the required current completely through the current loop. In this case, the actual transmitted current falls below the specified value, resulting in <strong>Measurement errors or invalid measured values<\/strong> can arise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In practice, the burden is made up of several components, for example the <strong>Input resistance of the measuring device, line resistances of the cabling and any additional resistances present<\/strong> in the measuring circuit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In measurement data acquisition systems - such as those from Delphin Technology - the permissible load range of the inputs is designed so that <strong>common industrial current signals can be recorded reliably and accurately<\/strong>, without impairing the function of the current loop.<\/p>","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"template":"","class_list":["post-6756","glossar","type-glossar","status-publish","hentry"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.delphin.de\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/glossar\/6756","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.delphin.de\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/glossar"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.delphin.de\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/glossar"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.delphin.de\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=6756"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
