The electrons flow continuously in one direction without periodically changing their direction of flow. The corresponding electric voltage is called <strong>DC voltage<\/strong> referred to as.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In technical terminology, the abbreviation <strong>DC<\/strong> It is often used to refer to both direct current and direct voltage. Strictly speaking, however, DC refers to the type of current, while the voltage is referred to as DC voltage or direct voltage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Direct current is supplied, for example, by batteries, rechargeable batteries, fuel cells, and many electronic power supplies. Numerous electronic devices and control systems operate internally on direct current, even when they are powered by the public alternating current grid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">DC plays a central role in industrial measurement, control, and regulation technology. Many sensors, transducers, and automation components are powered by standardized DC voltages such as <strong>24 V DC<\/strong> operated. Likewise, numerous measurement signals are based on direct current or direct voltage values, for example:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>0\u201310 V DC<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\u20135 V DC<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>0\u201320 mA DC<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>4\u201320 mA DC<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These signals are used to reliably transmit measured values such as pressure, temperature, flow, level, or force between sensors, measuring instruments, and control systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When taking measurements in electrical testing, a distinction must be made between DC and AC quantities, as different measurement methods and instruments are used.
