It is used in particular in industrial measurement technology, for long-term measurements, and in process monitoring\u2014in situations where measurement values need to be recorded continuously and available storage space must be used optimally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In ring storage, the available memory is divided into several equally sized memory areas or files. The measurement data is written to these areas sequentially. As soon as the last memory area is full, the system starts over at the beginning of memory. The oldest data is automatically overwritten by new measurement values.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This method enables seamless data acquisition over long periods of time without the recording being interrupted due to a full memory.
