In research projects relating to energy efficiency and process optimization, measurement systems must be flexible, precise and mobile. At the same time, the requirements for the simultaneous recording of a wide range of measured variables and simple evaluation of the data obtained are increasing.
As part of a research project for the monitoring of energy and process data, a mobile solution for the synchronous recording of electrical and process-related measurement data was therefore required. The requirements were defined in the course of a public tender and called for a compact, robust and powerful complete solution.
The challenge
A mobile solution was sought - an energy measurement case for data acquisition and energy monitoring of various research facilities.
The solution should be:
- Three-phase recording of electrical variables
- Record analog process signals such as flow rate, pressure and temperature
- Record consumption values via pulse inputs
- Visualize live and historical data
- Enable online and offline evaluations
- Mobile and robust design
- Remain operational even when the case is closed
- Support different interfaces and bus systems
In addition, the focus was on ease of use, customizable dashboards, and high mobility.

Our solution
Based on the requirements specified in the request for proposals, a compact energy measurement kit featuring the Delphin Expert Logger 100 was developed, which is specifically designed for flexible research and monitoring tasks.
The solution combines powerful energy and process data acquisition with the Delphin Expert Logger and meaningful visualization and analysis of measurement data using ProfiSignal 20. . A wide variety of analogue and digital signals can be recorded and visualized simultaneously.
Particular attention was paid to the compact design, the robust construction and the possibility of carrying out measurements even when the case is closed. Training was also provided on the configuration of the Delphin Expert Logger and on visualization and evaluation with ProfiSignal 20 Basic.

The result is a mobile and versatile complete solution for research and energy efficiency applications.
