Measured value acquisition and data recording via GPS

Measured value acquisition and data recording via GPS enable the precise acquisition and recording of measured values in conjunction with geographical information. By integrating GPS into measuring devices, location data can be recorded precisely, enabling comprehensive analysis and visualization of the data. This is particularly useful in areas such as environmental monitoring, geology or logistics, where precise location information plays an important role. GPS-based data acquisition and recording improves the efficiency, accuracy and reliability of measurements and enables informed decision making.

Positioning via GPS signals is an extension of the Delphin Data logger. The GPS signal is received via the GPS sensor and transmitted serially to the Delphin Data logger connected. The sensor records GPS data in accordance with the NEMA protocol. The Delphin devices use this data to calculate longitude, latitude (positioning) and speed independently and online. The GPS data is then available as software channels and can be merged with the measurement data as required. This means that a direct link can be established between the position data and the measurement data. With the software ProfiSignal Go the data can be monitored online or analyzed offline. The measurement and position values can be displayed directly in Google Earth (e.g. position, speed, consumption, power).

Conductivity measurement with combined GPS position data acquisition

At the Institute of Ornamental Plants and Vegetable Crops, conductivity measurements are carried out in the soil for research purposes. For this purpose, a vehicle has been developed that drives over the area to be investigated. A rolling electrode system is used, which feeds in alternating currents on one axle and measures them back on several axles. The Expert Vibro measurement data acquisition system simultaneously records the process parameters and GPS coordinates. The result can be evaluated directly after the measurement. With ProfiSignal, the data is read from the device memory and can be opened directly in an xy color diagram.
