Functions
Unique application possibilities
All Expert Key devices offer extensive features. The combination of all these functions into one device makes Expert Key unique in the broad field of USB data acquisition technology.
Universal configuration
The Expert devices have full potential isolation in the form of analog differential inputs that users configure according to requirements: for mA/mV and V signals as well as for RTD or thermocouples. These universal options enable simple operation of the device.
Integrated signal conditioning enables any type of sensor to be connected to the plug-in screw terminals. Scaled measurement data is then available to users. Recalculation from mA signal to bar, % etc. is unnecessary.
The analog outputs can be easily switched between current and voltage output. Digital inputs (status inputs with counters of up to 1MHz) and digital outputs (switch outputs, PWM-outputs) with switch capacities of up to 30W are included within the compact device and can be utilized at no extra cost or effort.
Each channel is easily configured at sampling rates of 100 KHz using the DataService / Configurator software included in delivery. To display your data on the screen, just select the required sensor, measurement range and scaling.
Special feature of Expert Key
- Universal and flexible application
- 14 or 28 differential analog inputs
- USB and Ethernet interface in one device
- Universally usable inputs for thermocouples, RTDs, mV or mA signals
- High accuracy 18 Bit A/D converter
- Fast measurement speed (100,000 readings per second)
- Analog and digital outputs, PWM outputs, counter inputs
- Full potential isolation
- Practical: for up to 2,5 mm² lines connecting terminals
- "Made in Germany" quality
Full potential isolation
The Expert Key provides full potential isolation, a feature that is absent in many low-cost products. The analogs, with 18-bit AD converters, as well as the digitals, are galvanically isolated from the central unit (a modern FPGA) and from the PC interfaces (Ethernet/USB). Earth loops or non-isolated signals therefore present no problems and additional transformers are usually unnecessary.
Highly communicative
As communication interfaces, the device has a USB port for plug and play operation and an Ethernet port for measurement data acquisition across company networks. Fast system set-up and mobile measurement with a laptop and the ProfiSignal 20 Go software are therefore always possible. Fixed installations using cabinet systems are also possible.

Versions
Two versions, five models
Expert Key devicesare available in five models each with two version types. The Expert Key type 100 is equipped with a good range of analog and digital inputs and outputs and is therefore highly suited for use within test engineering. The Expert Key type 200 has 28 universal inputs and is intended more for analog measurement data.
The pop-up, table-top model
Expert Key L –
For the lab and servicing applications
The Expert Key 100L and 200L are designed for table-top and wall-mounted usage. Pressing the detachable lid gives a clear overview of connections. Sensors and actuators are connected via plugs located on the side.
Because of its universal capability, the L-model is ideally suited to laboratory and servicing applications as well as to test and trial systems.
The laboratory model with 4mm plugs
Expert Key P –
For testing and trial procedures
Expert Key 100P and 200P have console housings and plug connections for use in testing, trial, and laboratory applications. All signals are connected via 4 mm safety lab plugs. Data can be transferred to a PC via USB or LAN. RTD sensors, voltage or current signals can be connected directly to any analog input.
The ProfiSignal 20 software enables lab automation complying to FDA21 CFR Part11.
For fixed installations in cabinets
Expert Key C -
For fixed cabinet installations
The Expert Key 100C and 200C are identical to the L models except for their housings. The housing design enables the devices to be used in cabinets or, 19” racks.
For OEM solutions, Expert Key can also be supplied without housings.
The sturdy mobile case
Expert Key M -
For the lab and servicing applications
The Expert Key100L and 200L are designed for table-top and wall-mounted usage. Pressing the detachable lid gives a clear overview of connections. Sensors and actuators are connected via plugs located on the side.
Because of its universal capability, the L-model is ideally suited to laboratory and servicing applications as well as to test and trial systems.
Console housing for laboratories and test stand
Expert Key T -
Multi-channel temperature measurement
The new devices, designed for multi-channel temperature measurement but also suited to temperature measurement and combined high-speed signal acquisition.
The compact Expert Key T devices have console-type housings. They are intended for use in laboratories and test stands as tabletop or wall-mounted devices. The analog and digital inputs and outputs are easy to access and signals and actuators are quick to connect requiring no tools.
Software
Suitable software for Expert Key
Data acquisition and analysis
With ProfiSignal Go you can display online data from the Message and Expert hardware in diagram form. Numerous analysis functions, such as zoom, cursor, movable axes, flags, ASCII export and calculation channels, enable fast display of measured values and post-processing.
To the productOperating and monitoring
ProfiSignal Basic combines the functions of ProfiSignal Go with operating and monitoring elements of process visualisations, e.g. digital and analogue displays, switches, buttons and signal lamps. With Basic, you can create everything from simple visualisation diagrams to complex visualisation systems.
To the productAutomate and control
ProfiSignal Klicks supplements ProfiSignal Basic with functions for process automation. Structural diagrams for mapping the process as well as a script language (completely operable with the mouse) enable even the non-informatician to create complex test stand and automation applications with automatic report generation.
To the productVisualisation and operation
With ProfiSignal 20 Basic you can create individual diagrams using a wide range of operating and monitoring elements. Both continuous processes (e.g. production data acquisition) and discontinuous measurement tasks (e.g. test measurements) can be visualised, operated and monitored without any programming effort. You can create the operating and monitoring diagrams by assembling and configuring the prefabricated elements.
To the productFast project planning and analysis of measurement data
With ProfiSignal 20 Go you can visualise your measurement data in just a few steps, both online and offline, in various diagram types, monitor, analyse, archive as a measurement file or export directly in the appropriate file format.
To the productCentral measurement data management
The Delphin Data Center is the solution used for the worldwide measurement networking and control of plants, machines and test stands.
To the productSoftware channels as extended functions
Realise and execute monitoring and automation tasks easily
The Delphin measuring and testing devices have extended functions that are summarised under the term software channels. The online measurement data is calculated with the software channels and then used for visualisation, storage or control.
In this way, entire programme sequences can be configured very simply and intuitively with the regulation and control function. These then run autonomously without PC support. This is how you use your data logger effectively, also as a monitoring device or PLC replacement.
The software channels enable functions such as limit value monitoring, integration or online calculation and are configured very easily. This means that even users who are not experts in programming can easily implement their own monitoring tasks or balancing independently in the unit.
