Functions
All in one: capture, process and save with ProfiMessage D
ProfiMessage D combines precise data acquisition, signal processing, limit value monitoring and secure storage in a single device. Modular I/O modules and versatile interfaces allow it to be flexibly integrated and enable fast, practical implementation of demanding measuring and monitoring tasks.
- Quick access to all measured values - Data is transferred to the network at high speed via the LAN/TCP interface. Users can access the device from any PC on the intranet or Internet and also use common services such as NTP, SFTP, HTTP or SMTP. The internal data memory can also be conveniently read out via LAN.
- Flexible integration of devices and sensors - The RS232/RS485 interfaces enable the connection of individual or proprietary protocols. This makes it easy to integrate climate chambers, laboratory equipment, power meters or GPS receivers.
- High adaptability in the field - Any identifier can be read, written and processed via the freely programmable CAN bus. At the same time, the system supports Modbus TCP/RTU in master or slave mode.
- Ready for Industry 4.0 - The integrated OPC UA client/server interface allows measured values and limit value violations to be securely forwarded to subsystems, PLC controllers or PCT systems. This ensures future viability in IoT and cloud environments.
- Convenient data backup - Stored measurement data can be transferred directly via USB stick or LAN. This means that network-independent operation is also possible at any time.
- Seamless connection to automation systems - Two independent PROFIBUS DP slave interfaces allow integration into existing control systems, including redundant operating mode in accordance with the PNO standard.
- Scalable for growing requirements - Up to 20 slave devices can be connected to a master device via the expansion bus. Each I/O module can be flexibly configured to cover different measured variables such as voltage, current or temperature.
- Reliable and interference-free measurement - Differential, high-precision and galvanically isolated inputs and outputs prevent earth loops and also reliably detect sensors with potential.
- Direct operation and quick control - An integrated display with jog wheel allows easy setting of network properties and direct reading of current measured values.
- Simple and efficient configuration - With the software supplied, setup is clear and intuitive, similar to Windows Explorer. Configurations can be created offline, saved and quickly exchanged if required - for maximum flexibility in daily operation.

ProfiMessage D - modularly expandable and perfect for complex measurement tasks
The ProfiMessage D impresses with its consistent modularity: each master or slave device can be equipped with up to two I/O modules, with a total of nine different modules to choose from. Master devices without an internal I/O module are also available for pure fieldbus applications. Up to 20 slave devices can be connected to a master device via a robust, real-time-capable extension bus using two-wire technology - distributed centrally or decentrally. This creates a highly flexible system that can be adapted precisely to the task at hand.

FAQ
The ProfiMessage D is a modular measuring, monitoring and automation system for industrial applications. It is used wherever precise measured value acquisition, monitoring and control are required, e.g. in production, test laboratories, energy systems, mechanical engineering or for long-term measurements.
The most important features include:
- Modularity: Flexible combination of different I/O modules for individual measurement tasks
- High measuring accuracy: Up to 24-bit resolution and fast sampling rates of up to 600 Hz depending on the module
- Galvanic isolation: Minimizes susceptibility to interference and protects sensors and electronics

The ProfiMessage D supports a wide range of sensor and signal types via the various I/O modules: e.g. voltage, current, thermocouples, resistance thermometers (Pt100 / Pt1000), frequency/status inputs, digital I/Os. The galvanic isolation and the high resolution and measuring accuracy also make the system suitable for demanding measuring tasks. This covers both simple and high-precision measurement tasks.
Thanks to modern interfaces such as OPC UA (client/server), Modbus TCP/RTU, PROFINET or PROFIBUS, the system can be easily integrated into networked production environments and automation systems. The modular expandability also enables flexible adaptation to growing systems.

Software channels as extended functions
Realise and execute monitoring and automation tasks easily
Our measuring and testing devices have extended functions, which are summarized under the term software channels. The online measurement data is offset against the software channels and then used for visualization, storage or control.
In this way, entire programme sequences can be configured very simply and intuitively with the regulation and control function. These then run autonomously without PC support. This is how you use your data logger effectively, also as a monitoring device or PLC replacement.
The software channels enable functions such as limit value monitoring, integration or online calculation and are configured very easily. This means that even users who are not experts in programming can easily implement their own monitoring tasks or balancing independently in the unit.
