Monitor pressure vibrations with pressure sensors

Pressure sensors are used to monitor and control pressure vibrations. These sensors can perform very precise measurements and make it possible to monitor the pressure in a system in real time. Pressure vibrations can occur in various areas, such as in hydraulic systems or in the aerospace industry. By monitoring pressure vibrations, potential damage or malfunctions can be detected at an early stage, resulting in increased safety and efficiency. Pressure sensors therefore play an important role in monitoring and controlling pressure vibrations in various applications.

The functionality of pressure sensors is based on different technologies. For example, capacitive pressure sensors are used in which a membrane is exposed to changes in pressure and thus changes the distance to an electrode. This leads to a change in capacitance and thus to a change in voltage, which represents the pressure value. Another example is piezoresistive pressure sensors, which are based on the piezo effect. Here, pressure is exerted on a piezoresistive strain gauge bridge, causing the electrical resistance to change. This change is measured and can be converted directly into the corresponding pressure value.

In addition to conventional vibration measurement, dynamic pressure vibrations in the combustion chamber are monitored in gas turbines. High-temperature stable pressure sensors (2-3 pieces) are installed in the combustion chamber. These measure dynamic pressure oscillations which are Expert Vibro devices can be recorded. The information relevant for machine safety and analysis is contained in the dynamic pressure oscillations.
