Combined acquisition of fieldbus data
The acquisition of fieldbus data is an important process in industrial automation technology. Data from various devices and sensors is recorded and processed via a fieldbus, such as Profibus or Modbus. It is important that the fieldbus data is recorded accurately and reliably in order to obtain precise information about the status of the system or process. Suitable interfaces and protocols must be used to ensure smooth communication between the devices. Careful configuration of the fieldbus communication and precise logging of the data are also essential. This is the only way to generate valid information that can serve as a basis for controlling and monitoring the system.
In mechanical and plant engineering, sensors, actuators and control systems are usually networked via fieldbuses. On test stands, measurement data must be transferred to higher-level control systems via a fieldbus interface. The ProfiMessage and Expert Vibro devices have two PROFIBUS, one Modbus TCP, one CAN and one Modbus RTU interface. These interfaces can be used to transmit measured or calculated values and alarms recorded by the Delphin devices to control systems via fieldbus. The data exchange is bidirectional. Control commands from the PLC can also be transferred to the Delphin devices. If the Delphin device is used for monitoring, transmission via fieldbus to a controller is particularly useful. The integrated PROFIBUS interface supports the sniffing function.

Acquisition from high-speed PROFIBUS signals on gas turbines
Regulating gas turbines requires high-speed response times and especially powerful PLC control. Cycle times for PROFIBUS at under 8ms is extremely fast. By using Delphin ProfiMessage devices, conventional analog and digital measurement data in combination with high-speed PROFIBUS signals can be acquired and saved in a single system. This technology is used during start-up procedures and later for servicing. The Message devices have remote connections to a diagnosis centre where measurement data undergoes systematic analysis. These analyses are used to evaluate the efficiency and condition of the gas turbines and can be used to instigate any required action.
