Intelligent machine data acquisition - efficiency and transparency for your entire machine fleet
Transparent, reliable machine data is crucial for modern production in order to monitor processes, plan maintenance in a targeted manner and sustainably increase productivity. Our complete system for machine data acquisition (MDA) and production data acquisition (PDA) enables flexible, control-independent acquisition of all relevant data and its real-time evaluation. This means that capacity utilization, energy consumption, downtimes and productivity indicators can be efficiently monitored and used to reduce costs and continuously improve processes.
What advantages does machine data acquisition with Delphin offer you?
- Capture data flexibly: Numerous signal sources are recorded centrally and directly - analog, digital or via interfaces such as PROFIBUS, Modbus, OPC DA / UA - independently of the machine control system.
- Monitor processes securely: Continuously monitor machine parameters, detect deviations and automatically issue alarms if limit values are violated.
- Analyze faults quickly: Even short fault pulses are precisely recorded and processed in logic and timing diagrams for efficient fault analysis.
- Simply form key figures: Powerful computing channels enable the evaluation of system efficiency and the creation of relevant KPIs.
- Everything in view: Clear dashboards show all relevant system data, trends and deviations live for quick decision-making.
Efficient machine data acquisition (MDA) provides reliable data on the entire machine and plant fleet. Typical areas of application are
- Recording of quantities, cycle times and key production figures.
- Monitoring of energy consumption and machine running times.
- Reporting of faults and analysis of downtimes.
- Good/bad parts documentation and quality assurance.
- Batch monitoring and traceability of process data.
- Condition and wear monitoring of machines.
- Analysis of target/actual deviations in real time.
- Visualization of key figures for management reports.
- Support for predictive maintenance.
- Integration into ERP, MES or control systems for central evaluations.
Practical example of machine data acquisition
Efficient machine data acquisition in injection molding production
A medium-sized manufacturer of plastic parts relies on a Delphin MDC/PDC overall system in its injection molding production to increase transparency and efficiency in production. The aim was to record key production figures such as quantities, cycle times, good/bad parts and the energy consumption of each injection molding machine independently of the machine control system. For this purpose ProfiMessage D devices installed directly on the machines and digital and analog signals, such as cycle start, cycle end, mold temperatures and power consumption, were recorded in parallel with the machine control system. Operating hours were counted via integrated logic channels and faults and downtimes were automatically detected and recorded. In the event of limit value violations, such as increased cycle time or temperature deviations, the system automatically triggered alarms by e-mail to the maintenance department.
The recorded data was saved independently of the PC and transferred centrally to the office via the network, where it was compared with the ProfiSignal software were visualized and evaluated. This provided production managers and work schedulers with live dashboards showing current capacity utilization, downtimes and OEE key figures. In addition, daily reports on production performance and faults were automatically generated, which significantly accelerated production meetings. This solution enabled the manufacturer to significantly reduce downtimes, plan maintenance based on condition and increase the productivity of its injection molding machines by over 10 %. At the same time, the transparent data helped to identify potential energy savings and optimize the use of resources in production.
