Start a measurement in just a few steps
With this short introduction, we would like to show you how you can quickly and easily commission the ProfiSignal 20 measurement technology software. Please read this information before starting up. For further information, you can access the online help after starting ProfiSignal 20 by clicking on the "Help" menu item.
Which programs are installed?
The installation medium contains the Delphin software programs. Depending on the scope of the license you have purchased, the following programs are installed:
- DataService/Configurator
- Delphin Data Center
- ProfiSignal 20
Software installation
To install the software, insert the USB stick into a free USB port on your PC, open the newly displayed drive in Windows Explorer and double-click to start the "setup.exe" application. Please confirm the further installation steps with "OK" or "Next".
When installing the software, the license file created for you on the USB stick supplied is used. Please keep the USB stick in a safe place, as it contains your personalized license!
Please note that administrator rights are required during installation and activation of the software.
After installation, you will see the following icons on the desktop, depending on the license:
Start DataService/Configurator
If you have already configured your measurement channels, you can jump directly to the "Software start" section.
Double-click on the desktop icon to start the DataService/Configurator.
This software is used to establish a connection between the PC and your Delphin devices
After starting the DataService/Configurator, you can search for the desired device in the overview via the menu item "Connect" → "Search Delphin devices".
In the overview, select your device by ticking "Add" and confirm with the "Add" button.
The device is now permanently logged on to the PC and the DataService accepts the data from the device.
The Channels tab is used to configure the individual devices and measuring points. Click on the "+" sign to open the tree view of the device.
Some channels are already displaying measured values even though they have not yet been configured or no sensors have been connected. This behavior is not a malfunction, but is caused by the device's internal signal processing.
Software start
To start ProfiSignal 20 Go or Basic, a user must always be created in DataService first. To do this, under the "User administration" tab, add → DataService ID xxxx "User" icon, right-click to add the desired user.
Start ProfiSignal 20 by double-clicking on the corresponding icon symbol. The Login window opens.
Enter the IP address or the host name of the ProfiSignal 20 server in the "Server" field. If the server is located on the same PC, simply enter "localhost".
Please enter the user name and the corresponding password that you have set up under "Set up user". Also select your preferred language. Then click on "Log in".
You will be asked to change your password the first time you log in.
Start online analysis
After logging in, you will be taken directly to the ProfiSignal 20 start screen.
Click on "New online analysis" to create a new diagram in which your measurement data is visualized.
When the "New diagram" window opens, you must enter the diagram name; the description is optional. You can also find all connected devices here.
Click on the arrow symbol to open the nested channels below. Under "Configure channel", select the prepared channel and drag & drop or double-click it into the right-hand menu.
Click "Ok" to confirm your entry and access the generated online analysis. You can now make further settings for the trend using the toolbar and the channel list on the right.
Create new project
This function is not available with ProfiSignal 20 Go.
After logging in, select "New project" in the top left-hand corner of the ProfiSignal 20 start screen to create an individually configurable dashboard for visualizing, controlling and analysing your process. Entering the project name is mandatory, the description is optional. You can also find all connected devices here.
Click on the arrow symbol to open the nested channels below. Select the channel prepared under "Configure channel" or other channels you have already configured and drag & drop or double-click them into the right-hand menu. The selected channels are now available to you as data sources for the visual elements on your dashboard.
Click "Ok" to confirm your entry and access the initially empty dashboard. You can now design this as you wish with visualization and control elements, which you can simply drag and drop from the selection bar at the top of the screen onto the workspace.
To assign channels, simply drag the desired channel from the list on the left onto the respective visual element. The elements are configured via the "Settings" area on the right.
Once you have finished creating your dashboard (for the time being), you can save the project via the menu item "Project" → "Publish" and switch from "Editor mode" to "Runtime mode". In runtime mode, your project is in "productive use" to visualize and control your processes and cannot be edited.

ProfiSignal 20 App
The mobile version of the ProfiSignal 20 software can be downloaded free of charge from the Apple App Store or Google Play.
With the ProfiSignal 20 app, you can visualize and analyse your measurement data on the move and monitor and control your processes regardless of location.
To be able to log in to the app, you need the IP address of the ProfiSignal 20 server previously installed. Please also enter your user name and the password that you created under "Set up user".
