An international company involved in the development of active pharmaceutical ingredients was planning to use a 10-liter hydrogenation autoclave in its R&D department. The aim was to precisely record and fully record all relevant process variables such as pressure, temperature, stirring speed and hydrogen absorption during the tests. Active control of the process was not required - the decisive factor was seamless and reliable data acquisition that could be transferred to the company's existing PI-Vision/OSIsoft system without media discontinuity.

Tamper-proof data capture with standardized interfaces

Delphin developed a measurement concept in which all sensor signals are connected directly to a central recording unit. The data is continuously recorded, stored in a tamper-proof manner and forwarded to the internal archiving and visualization system via standardized interfaces - for example OPC UA. The connection is made in such a way that the test data can be displayed and evaluated in the PI system in the same way as data from later production plants.

The result: transparent, auditable test data without changing the process

This provides the R&D department with a reliable basis for comparable and auditable test data without having to change the existing IT workflow. The autoclave remains self-sufficient in terms of process technology, but becomes fully transparent in terms of measurement technology - an ideal starting point for scale-up studies and technological evaluations.
