Vibration analysis on the engine test bench and automated early fault detection

In this video, we show a customer application from automotive development: an electric motor drives a generator via a gearbox - set up as a fully-fledged engine test bench. The aim is to realistically simulate the behavior of the drive components under different load and torque conditions.

Our Delphin is used Expert Vibro devicewhich records vibration accelerations with a sampling rate of up to 50 kHz on up to 16 channels. Vibration sensors were attached directly to the transmission components for this purpose. The recorded measurement data is transferred to the customer's existing control system via Delphin CAN bus interfaces (canvas) and visualized there.

This allows potential bearing damage and anomalies to be detected at the development stage - long before they could occur in later vehicle use. This significantly reduces recalls and failures at the end customer.

This application impressively demonstrates how Delphin technology is also used in the automotive industry for condition monitoring, quality assurance and powertrain protection.
