Amplitude

Amplitude

The Amplitude describes the maximum deflection of a periodic oscillation signal from its zero position. It corresponds to the vertical distance between the time axis (x-axis) and the peak value (wave crest) of an oscillation.

In measurement and testing technology, amplitude is used to quantify the strength or intensity of a signal - for example in the case of Vibrationselectrical signals or acoustic measurements. Precise recording of the amplitude is crucial for assessing signal quality, loads and test conditions.
