Debouncing

Debouncing | Term from electrical engineering: If a button is pressed by hand, it may send several shorter pulses instead of one long one as intended. In the case of digital pulses (= digital signal), debouncing refers to the correction of a signal: short pulses can either be removed from the signal or lengthened.
