IEPE

IEPE | (Integrated Electronics Piezo-Electric), name for a standardized industrial sensor that works with the piezoelectric effect: The material reacts to pressure with a change in electrical voltage. Impedance converter electronics are built into the IEPE sensor. It converts the high-impedance signal of the piezoelectric material into a signal with low impedance (AC resistance ~ 100 Ohm). This can be processed by the measuring device without loss.
