Measurement deviation

Measurement deviation

Measurement deviation | (according to measurement technology standard DIN 1319-1), difference between measured value and true value. As the true value cannot be determined, the measurement deviation cannot be determined with complete accuracy. In practice (e.g. calibration), the measurement deviation is therefore determined as the difference between the measured value and the correct value. The correct value is provided by a standard. The measurement deviation must remain within the accuracy class of the measuring device for all measured values. The dispersion of the measured values around the correct value corresponds to a Gaussian normal distribution (bell curve).
