Potential equalization

Potential equalization

Potential equalization | Equipotential bonding is a good electrically conductive connection that can prevent or at least greatly reduce different potentials and thus an electrical voltage between conductive bodies (e.g. enclosures) and minimize the earthing resistance. The definition of VDE DIN VDE 0100 Part 200: Electrical connection that brings the bodies of electrical equipment and external conductive parts to the same or approximately the same potential. In the event of an earth fault, according to Ohm's law, the earthing resistance results in a residual voltage which must be limited to safe values using short connections with a large cross-section.
