Sensor compensation

Sensor compensation

Sensor compensation | Sensors and measurement setups in which sensors are integrated are subject to system-related influences. These can falsify the measured values. In order to provide realistic measurement results, sensor genes must be calibrated. (Calibration = comparison with a standard that provides correct values.) For this purpose, a measurement curve with exemplary calibration points is taken from the standard. If the sensor measures different values than the standard at the same calibration points, the sensor measured values are corrected accordingly by calculation in order to obtain more realistic values. This correction is applied by Configurator in the 'Properties' dialog of a measuring channel under the 'Sensor compensation' tab. Sensor compensation in Configurator is carried out purely mathematically in the software. The measurement setup itself is not affected.
