Serial interface

Serial interface | The serial interface was developed for data exchange between computers and peripheral devices. Serial data transfer used to take place via mouse or modem. Here, the data (bits) are transmitted one after the other (serially) via a line. This refers to a CCITT V.24 or RS232 interface, although interfaces such as Ethernet, USB, Firewire, SATA, CAN bus or RS-485 are also based on serial data transmission.
