The Expert Logger is a powerful, modular system for recording, processing and forwarding measurement data. Whether stationary or mobile, in the laboratory or in the field - the Expert Logger impresses with its versatile interfaces, intelligent signal processing and simple operation. Industry 4.0 capability included.
- Open communication with OPC UA - The Expert Logger supports OPC UA both as a server and as a client. This allows data to be exchanged securely and in a standardized manner with OPC UA-capable sensors, controllers or subsystems. This openness makes the system ideal for future-oriented applications in the sense of Industry 4.0.
- Versatile interfaces for maximum integration - In addition to OPC UA, other industrial protocols such as PROFIBUS, Modbus, CAN bus and serial interfaces are also available. This allows the logger to be easily integrated into existing system architectures and automation solutions - without any additional hardware.
- Fast sensor connection - well thought-out and clear - Sensors are connected via plug-in screw terminals, which simplifies installation and maintains clarity even with a high channel density. Four terminals each can be flexibly configured for differential inputs or Pt100(0) sensors in a four-wire circuit.
- Simple configuration - online and offline - The device is configured intuitively using PC software. Changes can be prepared offline and transferred later. All settings are retained even if power is lost - for smooth commissioning and trouble-free use.
- Intelligent signal processing directly in the device - Thanks to powerful software channels, measured values can be processed, calculated or evaluated internally - e.g. for averaging, limit value recognition, time functions or integrations. This reduces the need for external evaluation systems and saves time.
- High storage capacity - internally and externally expandable - An internal memory of 32 GB enables the recording of up to 960 million measured values with millisecond-accurate time stamps. If required, the memory can be expanded as required via USB or NAS - even with event-controlled recording.
- Secure data transfer - automated and flexible - Measured values can be automatically transferred to the Internet or to external storage devices using the PUSH function. The device also supports event-triggered transmissions with pre- and post-processing - ideal for time-critical applications or remote analysis.
- Reliable monitoring and alarming - Thanks to built-in limit value monitoring, digital outputs can be controlled or automatic notifications can be triggered by e-mail and SMS. This allows you to keep an eye on critical values at all times - even remotely.
- Mobile and self-sufficient operation - The logger can also be operated with batteries or rechargeable batteries for mains-independent use. Wake-up and measurement intervals are freely adjustable, which enables energy-efficient long-term operation - e.g. for environmental or outdoor measurements.
- Direct access via touch display - The integrated touch display enables the configuration of basic settings such as IP address and netmask as well as the direct display of selected measured values. It can be operated by touch or alternatively via a connected USB mouse.

The Expert Logger is available in four versions with varying numbers of analog and digital inputs. All models have an internal 32 GB memory for autonomous recording of up to 960 million measured values - including date and time stamp in the millisecond range. If required, the storage capacity can be flexibly expanded via USB or a NAS system.

Thanks to FPGA-based measurement data acquisition, the Expert Logger from Delphin achieves a total sampling rate of 1,000 Hz per channel group—meaning up to 3,000 measurements per second for the Type 300, which has three groups. This allows even faster process operations to be documented seamlessly.
Depending on the model, the Expert Logger from Delphin has two to six internal reference measurement points. This achieves an accuracy of 0.1 % of the measurement range after sensor compensation. Alternatively, an external thermoblock with an accuracy of 0.3 K can be connected.
The Expert Logger from Delphin, in its 100 and 200 models, offers an integrated strain gauge supply voltage—5 VDC ±10 mV internally, and externally selectable at 1, 2.5, 5, or 10 V. This allows for force, pressure, and strain measurements without the need for additional amplifier hardware.

Our measuring and testing devices have extended functions, which are summarized under the term software channels. The online measurement data is offset against the software channels and then used for visualization, storage or control.
In this way, entire programme sequences can be configured very simply and intuitively with the regulation and control function. These then run autonomously without PC support. This is how you use your data logger effectively, also as a monitoring device or PLC replacement.
The software channels enable functions such as limit value monitoring, integration or online calculation and are configured very easily. This means that even users who are not experts in programming can easily implement their own monitoring tasks or balancing independently in the unit.
