FAQ
With the Loggito series, Delphin offers all three versions: The Loggito Logger - records autonomously using its internal memory and processes channels directly within the device. The Loggito Gate is designed for use with Ethernet in measurement networks and control applications. The Loggito USB - It runs directly on the computer and, without its own logging function, offers the most cost-effective solution for laboratory measurement stations.
For small-channel measurement and monitoring tasks, four to eight analog inputs are generally sufficient. The Loggito from Delphin is therefore available in four channel configurations: 8 AI-RTD, 8 AI, 4 AI-RTD, and 4 AI, each supplemented by two switchable digital inputs/outputs. Thanks to the modular system, there is no channel overhead—you pay only for the number of channels you actually need.
Compact data loggers typically support two to four Pt100 sensors, since RTD measurements require a separate power source for each channel. The Loggito from Delphin supports up to four Pt100(0) sensors in the 8 AI-RTD model and up to two in the 4 AI-RTD model. With a 4-wire connection, the measurement accuracy is 0.10 °C.
Compact process data loggers are not suitable for vibration measurement—the Loggito from Delphin achieves a maximum total sampling rate of 500 Hz and is designed for temperature, process, and long-term measurements. For dynamic signals, Delphin Technology offers Expert Vibro a vibration meter and with Expert Transient a transient recorder.
Industrial data loggers achieve accuracies in the per-thousand range using high-resolution converters. The Loggito from Delphin uses a 24-bit sigma-delta converter and measures voltage and current with an accuracy of 0.01 % of the full-scale range, and Pt100 in a 4-wire configuration with an accuracy of 0.10 °C. The input impedance of over 5 GΩ prevents any feedback to the measurement source.
The Loggito from Delphin has 16 GB of internal storage, which can hold approximately 480 million measurement values—or about 30 million values per gigabyte. With eight channels and one measurement per second, this theoretically corresponds to several years of continuous recording. For longer campaigns, data can be transferred via USB or the network protocols NFS, CIFS, and (S)FTP.
Compact industrial data loggers are typically powered from the existing control voltage. The Loggito Logger and Loggito Gate from Delphin require 12 to 24 VDC (±10 %) with a maximum power consumption of 7.5 watts. The Loggito USB is powered by 5 VDC via the mini-USB port and consumes a maximum of 2.5 watts—making it suitable for low-power applications powered by batteries or solar energy.
Data loggers for control cabinets snap onto DIN EN 60715 mounting rails. The Loggito from Delphin can also be mounted horizontally or vertically with screws or set up freestanding. With dimensions of approximately 95 × 67 × 65 mm and a weight of 220 g, it fits even in tight installation spaces. Wiring is done via pluggable push-in spring terminals for 0.2 to 2.5 mm².
An extended temperature range is required for unheated equipment rooms and outdoor control cabinets. The Loggito from Delphin operates between −20 and +60 °C at a maximum relative humidity of 90 % (non-condensing). An additional protective enclosure is recommended for direct outdoor use. For measurements in the negative temperature range, Delphin recommends calibration at the respective operating point.
Yes—standalone data loggers store measurement values internally and operate independently of a computer. The Loggito Logger from Delphin also performs threshold monitoring, calculations, statistics, and trigger logic directly in the device via integrated software channels. The recorded data can be retrieved later or automatically transferred via the network.
For simple monitoring and control tasks, yes. The Loggito from Delphin uses the regulation and control functions of the software channels to map out complete program sequences that run autonomously without PC support. Configuration is done with a click of the mouse and requires no programming knowledge. Actuators are controlled directly via the digital outputs and PWM signals.
Via the meter’s SMTP function. The Loggito from Delphin automatically sends email notifications when threshold values are exceeded. The thresholds are configured directly in the device via the software channels—this means that the alarm system works even without a running PC or higher-level control system and remains operational even during network outages.
Via the NTP or PTP time protocols. The Loggito from Delphin supports both methods and time-stamps measurement values down to the millisecond range. In distributed measurement networks, this allows events to be correctly assigned across devices—a prerequisite for fault analysis and sequence-of-events evaluations.
Yes—the Loggito Logger and Loggito Gate from Delphin are optionally available with Wi-Fi compliant with 802.11b/g/n (max. 72 Mbit/s). This allows measurement points to be connected without network cabling, for example in existing buildings, on test benches, or in temporary measurement setups. A 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX LAN interface is included as standard.
Via open standard interfaces. The Loggito from Delphin offers an SQL connection, an open API, and Python support. OPC UA (including an optional OPC UA HA server) and Modbus TCP are available for control and automation systems. For centralized, cross-site data storage, the Delphin Data Center.
The Loggito from Delphin can be connected to LabVIEW, DIAdem, and DASYLab via the existing software interfaces. Additionally, OPC, OPC UA, Modbus TCP, SQL, Python, and an open API are available. Alternatively, you can use the Delphin measurement software ProfiSignal 20 for visualization, monitoring, and historical analysis.

Software channels as extended functions
Realise and execute monitoring and automation tasks easily
Our measuring and testing devices have extended functions, which are summarized under the term software channels. The online measurement data is offset against the software channels and then used for visualization, storage or control.
In this way, entire programme sequences can be configured very simply and intuitively with the regulation and control function. These then run autonomously without PC support. This is how you use your data logger effectively, also as a monitoring device or PLC replacement.
The software channels enable functions such as limit value monitoring, integration or online calculation and are configured very easily. This means that even users who are not experts in programming can easily implement their own monitoring tasks or balancing independently in the unit.
