Integrated intelligence - how to record various measurement parameters mobile and efficiently

High measurement accuracy, future-proof interfaces and optimum usability are parameters that are in demand today when it comes to efficient measurement data acquisition. We present precision measurement technology that can do even more. Thanks to internal data storage and device-internal intelligence, systems can be monitored and controlled independently.

In everyday life on machines, plants and laboratory systems, it is becoming increasingly important to carry out various measurement tasks spontaneously and without great effort. In most cases, there is no time for time-consuming wiring of sensors or complicated set-up of measurement technology. There are many applications or scenarios in which additional data acquisition can provide added value or create competitive advantages. All of these applications have one thing in common: measurement parameters of different types need to be recorded decentrally, preferably with minimal wiring and set-up effort. With the new LoggitoLab, Delphin Technology has developed a compact tabletop device that users can set up quickly and easily and to which they can connect their sensors without tools.

AUTONOMOUS DATA LOGGING OR PC-SUPPORTED DATA ACQUISITION

With the LoggitoLab devices, the user can decide whether a stand-alone data logger is required (LoggitoLab-Logger) or whether PC-supported data logging (LoggitoLab-USB) is more suitable, depending on the measurement task at hand. The LoggitoLab logger is the device of choice when PC-independent operation with fail-safe, device-internal data storage and intelligent analysis functions is required. As an option, the Loggito-Lab-Logger offers server functionality that allows the measurement data to be visualized and analysed directly on a smartphone or tablet. With the optional WLAN interface, the user is independent of the existing network infrastructure. The LoggitoLab-USB offers the ideal expansion option for the LoggitoLab logger if more channels are required or PC-supported measurement data acquisition is planned. LoggitoLab-USB offers the same high-precision data logging and the same connection options as LoggitoLab-Logger. Power supply and measured value transmission are simply carried out via the USB cable supplied.

Different connection variants for flexibility

The sensors are often already present on the systems and in the laboratory. Regardless of whether the user requires laboratory sockets for connecting U, I, R signals or thermocouple miniature sockets for the direct connection of any thermocouples or even a combination of both - LoggitoLab is suitable for every application. All connection variants have eight analog inputs and two software-switchable digital inputs/outputs. The variants are available for both LoggitoLab loggers and LoggitoLab-USB. This results in the greatest possible flexibility and easy expandability for practical use.

UNIVERSAL, PRECISE ANALOG AND DIGITAL I/OS

The most important basis for measurement data acquisition is the quality of the signal inputs and outputs. Attention should also be paid to the universality of the analog inputs. Different measured variables often have to be recorded simultaneously at a specific location, for example a temperature, a pressure and a voltage signal. In addition to the analog inputs, digital inputs and switching outputs are often required to monitor and control processes. The LoggitoLab from Delphin Technology meets all these requirements. Regardless of the connection variant, it is equipped with eight universal, differential analog inputs. Depending on the connection variant, any current/voltage and temperature signals can be recorded. The analog inputs of the LoggitoLab devices offer a resolution of 24 bits and provide a measuring accuracy of 0.01% of the measuring range end value for voltage, current and resistance measurements. The LoggitoLab devices are also equipped with two software-switchable digital inputs/outputs with frequency measurement, counting and PWM functions.

PROCESSES CAN BE MONITORED AND ALARMS TRIGGERED EVEN WITHOUT A CONNECTED PC

INTERNAL DEVICE INTELLIGENCE AND AUTONOMOUS OPERATION

In many applications, there is no permanent connection to a measuring computer or PLC. In such LoggitoLab loggers with an optional internal data memory of four or eight GB, up to 240 million measured values can be stored. A high-quality, industrial-grade data memory is used to ensure that no data is lost. Thanks to the device's internal intelligence in the form of so-called software channels, LoggitoLab loggers can be used to solve simple control tasks as well as implement complex logic circuits. The devices can also monitor and automate processes and trigger alarms without a connected PC.

INTEGRATED SERVER FUNCTIONALITY FOR IMMEDIATE VISUALIZATION

COMMUNICATIVE AT ALL LEVELS

In times of advancing digitalization, both horizontal M2M communication and vertical communication to other company levels and the cloud are becoming increasingly important. When selecting a data collection device, it is important to ensure that modern communication standards are supported so that the device can easily exchange data with all levels involved. OPC UA, which is now established as a quasi-standard for Industry 4.0 applications and enables reliable manufacturer- and platform-independent data exchange, should be mentioned first and foremost. LoggitoLab loggers can communicate via OPC UA, Modbus TCP or user-defined protocols using the integrated LAN and USB interfaces. An OPC UA HA server interface is available for LoggitoLab loggers, with which the OPC UA standard can also be used to access historical measured values. This function is currently required by more and more users.

Create system and process visualizations with the platform-independent software - simply on your mobile device

VISUALIZATION AND ANALYSIS ANYTIME AND ANYWHERE

With the optional server functionality, LoggitoLab brings the measurement data directly to the tablet or smartphone via WLAN. The platform-independent ProfiSignal 20 software is the perfect complement to the device and enables the visualization and control of running processes directly in the field - for example on the user's mobile device. The display and operating concept is optimized for the respective platform. The software completely maps the structures - from the hall overview to each individual machine or system, from the test laboratory to the respective test bench. Thanks to the Scach function, the user scans an individual QR code attached to each machine with the camera of their smartphone - the result is a single measured value diagram or the complete system visualization.
